Morelos Research Document
This document was created to share resources used for the WRN “Morelos” video published on March 20, 2019. It will also collect all future research regarding Morelos from here on out. I try to at least double-source everything I put in a report, listed in order that I found them while researching. It’s not an especially “clean” system yet, but I’m trying to improve and maintain complete transparency and accessibility in my research while also building MANY skills on top of constant research and production, so please forgive me for being a bit messy on this end so far. Experts say this will limit already limited water supply. Also that the project is a financial and ecological risk in part because of a nearby volcano.
Despite the opposition of the majority, Humberto Sandoval, a union leader who is considered the chief of the area, convinced the agricultural representatives to accept the project without having to submit it to the local Assembly. The financial support of the parastatal company Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) was key, according to neighbors. The current representative of the peasants, Mario Santos, explains that the authorities went house by house to convince the owners of the land. "They told them: 'You sell it to us or we expropriate it.' The peasants thought 'if they are going to take it away from me, they better pay me,' "he recalls. Santos draws on a sheet of paper the route of the pipeline that was finished building: the pipe draws a U around Amilcingo.

- Feb 8 it was announced a vote would be held on Feb 23and 24th on approval to use the Huexca thermoelectric plant of the CFE (Federal Electricity Commission), which requires the creation of transmission lines and a private pipeline. The vote would be in 24 municipalities of Tlaxcala and [Puebla where the gas pipeline passes], and the entire state of Morelos.
Huexca is a municipality adjacent to the work that would be done which has had protests. The United Nations have agreed to “certify” the environmental impact.

“Yesterday in the villages of northeastern Morelos, seven squares were not installed for the consultation on the start-up of the Huexca thermoelectric plant, after that on Saturday, when the citizen exercise began, members of the People's Front in Defense of the Earth and Agua de Morelos, Puebla and Tlaxcala (FPDAT) called for the boycott of the same, burned two ballot boxes and ballots and prevented the operation of eight other boxes in six municipalities.
